PRESS RELEASE

3,000-MILE RIDE RAISES AWARENESS FOR PLIGHT OF UGANDA ORPHANS

June 7, 2007, Chico, California

A young Northern California couple, Stefanie Marshall and Jim Savage hope to share their passion to raise awareness and monetary funds for the education, needs and protection of homeless orphans in Uganda, Africa. By cycling over 3,000 miles from the West Coast through rural Mid-America to Illinois, their 7-week goal is to raise $100,000, all of which will be donated to the Uganda Orphans Fund, a 501-c (3) non-profit public charitable foundation corporation, located in Montana under the directorship of S. Duncan Hill, President.

“I believe!” says Marshall, 23, a recent graduate of California State University, Chico. “I believe we can make a difference in the lives of these children… these children need us! I’ve been to Africa and have personally seen how the Uganda Orphans Fund (UOF) is making a huge difference in the lives of hundreds of Ugandan children. Jim and I want to do all we can to support the UOF vision. One way we can do that is by cycling cross-country. Americans are generous and our ride is about spreading the word.” The Uganda Orphans Fund is dedicated to the long-term education, care and shelter of African orphans left homeless due to AIDS having taken the lives of their parents. Founded in 2002, along with its partners and like-minded organizations, the Uganda Orphans Fund has already established about 20 functioning group homes in Uganda.
